JSC "Nurbank" has once again provided financial support to the "IQanat" Educational Foundation. The allocated funds will be used to implement projects that give talented students from rural areas access to quality educational resources and help them prepare for admission to leading universities in Kazakhstan and abroad.
"IQanat" is a social-educational project founded by Kazakhstani entrepreneurs. It aims to identify the most motivated rural children and give them an "educational ticket" to a better life. 94% of "IQanat" graduates receive grants to prestigious universities in Kazakhstan and abroad, with students currently studying in 17 countries worldwide. Today, the project covers all 170 districts of Kazakhstan and is supported by more than 200 entrepreneurs who contribute to the development of rural education and provide regional patronage.
Nurbank’s cooperation with the "IQanat" Foundation began in 2019. A testament to the deep involvement and long-term nature of this partnership is the fact that Eldar Sarsenov, a shareholder of JSC "Nurbank," is a trustee of the foundation. He specifically supports the creation of a comfortable and inspiring educational environment for students in the Altynsarin district of the Kostanay region.
"Investment in education and the development of the younger generation is the key to a strong and successful future for our country. We are proud to support young people from remote regions, help them discover their talents, achieve their goals, and nurture a love for learning. I am confident that among these students are future leaders, scientists, and innovators who will solve critical challenges and drive the country to new achievements.
Nurbank’s commitment to educational initiatives is no coincidence. For more than 10 years, the bank has been supporting orphans and children without parental care through its “Putevka v zhizn'” program by providing free education at Caspian University. This program has shown how essential comprehensive support for youth is — today, many of our graduates are building successful careers in various fields. That is why supporting educational projects, including 'IQanat', remains a priority in the bank’s social policy," said Eldar Sarsenov, shareholder of JSC "Nurbank."
Background:
Nurbank has been operating successfully in Kazakhstan’s financial services market for over 32 years, building a socially oriented business. During this time, the Bank has implemented over 1,000 charitable programs and large-scale projects at both national and local levels. Currently, special attention is given to developing its own initiatives, such as “Spasibo dedu za pobedu”, Charity Music Run, “Putevka v zhizn'”, and other important projects.
One of the Bank’s key social initiatives is the educational program “Putevka v zhizn'” (in Kazakh – "Өмірге жолдама"), launched in 2014 in partnership with Caspian University. The project was initiated by Nurbank shareholder Eldar Sarsenov. Under this program, Nurbank fully covers tuition fees, monthly scholarships, and other expenses related to the educational process.
Moreover, support for students goes beyond academics: the Bank encourages self-development by funding hobbies, sports, and extracurricular activities. Program participants also undergo internships at the Bank’s branches and offices, gaining practical experience and preparing for successful employment, including positions at regional branches and Nurbank-affiliated companies.
