To strengthen its position in the Kazakhstani market, Nurbank invests in IT infrastructure and develops innovative services.
On November 11 in Almaty, Gulnara Musatayeva, Chairman of the Management Board of Nurbank, presented the key areas of its new strategy for 2025-2027.
The central direction of the strategy was digital transformation.
"Today, technology is no longer just a tool - it becomes a philosophy. We see our task in creating digital services that work for people," remarked Musatayeva.
New stage in the bank's development
The bank aims to strengthen its role in the country's financial ecosystem. The focus is on large-scale investments in IT, modern equipment, and proprietary digital products, which will be convenient, fast, and secure.
Today, Nurbank offers one of the widest ranges of transfer and payment solutions in the Kazakhstan market. By the end of September 2025, the bank's share accounted for 16% of the total volume of international transfers, confirming Nurbank's stable position in this segment and high customer trust.
Bank customers have access to:
For the domestic market, there are proprietary services: NUR Express for instant transfers across Kazakhstan and money transfers from card to card or by phone number in Nur24.kz.
By the end of 2025, the Nur24.kz app will feature a recommendation system and a ranking of transfer services. It will select the optimal option based on direction, amount, and commission, and the ranking will be based on real user reviews.
Also introduced was the innovative service - "Crypto Showcase" in the Nur24.kz mobile app. With it, users can view the balances of fiat and digital assets and interact with licensed AIFC cryptocurrency exchanges, including ATAIX Eurasia. Soon, clients will be able to deposit and withdraw funds directly to and from Nurbank accounts and cards.
"Our main principle remains unchanged: Strength lies in innovation, heart in service. We are confident that the combination of technology and a human approach is the foundation of trust and sustainable development," noted the head of Nurbank during the presentation of the innovations.
It should be noted that Nurbank is a leader in implementing digital tenge. Although the full launch of the national digital currency is planned for the end of 2025, the bank has already implemented 8 functions for working with digital tenge, from opening an account to conversion. All operations are available through the NurBusiness internet bank. The bank is also preparing for the "Digital VAT" project, which will reduce tax refund times to 5-15 days, accelerating cash flow for businesses.
In December 2024, S&P Global Ratings upgraded Nurbank's long-term credit rating from "B-" to "B" with a stable outlook, and on the national scale from "kzBB" to "kzBB+". This reflects strong financial results and risk management.
"We believe that investing in technology and people is investing in the future. Our goal is for innovation to serve people, assist businesses, and strengthen trust in Kazakhstan's banking system," concluded Musatayeva.
