Nurbank Held a Meeting with Clients in Astana

On April 16, 2026, Nurbank held a meeting with clients at the Hilton Astana hotel to address current business issues, tax administration, and the development of banking services.

Gulnara Musataeva, the Chairwoman of the Management Board of Nurbank, also addressed the meeting, presenting the key strategic directions of the bank for the coming years. She emphasized that Nurbank is actively rethinking its role in the market, strengthening its support for small and medium businesses, and developing digital solutions and transactional services.

The meeting also featured a client with whom Nurbank has started collaborating under the digital tenge (DT) adoption program initiated by the National Bank. The funds are earmarked for producing uniforms for one of Kazakhstan's football clubs. In June 2025, Nurbank joined the National Bank's pilot project to introduce digital tenge for marking and tracking budget expenditure. Nurbank is one of the seven banks fully operational with digital tenge in Kazakhstan. According to the National Payment Corporation, all eight functions have been implemented in Nurbank, from opening a digital account to converting DT. One of the key features of digital tenge is its programmability. The purpose of fund use can be set in advance. For example, if the money is allocated for building a school or hospital, it cannot technically be used to buy a car or a house. This reduces the risk of misuse and increases the transparency of budgetary processes.

The event featured an invited speaker, Maxim Baryshev, the founder of "Uchet.kz". He covered key aspects of tax administration, including tax reporting, audits, and desk control, potential debt recovery measures, as well as the taxation of property, transport, and luxury items. Special attention was given to the application of a special tax regime and VAT issues.

“For us, it is important not just to offer financial products but to build long-term partnerships with clients, understand their real needs, and be there at crucial moments of business development,” stated Gulnara Musataeva.

Special focus was given to the development of international transfers. The bank's clients have access to all major money transfer systems available in Kazakhstan, including Ria Money Transfer, UPT (Universal Payment Transfer), KoronaPay, Kwikpay, Western Union, SWIFT transfers. Recently, clients of the bank also gained access to transfers via MoneyGram, one of the largest international networks covering over 200 countries worldwide.

Key advantages of the MoneyGram service include:

commission from 0.5% of the transfer amount in all directions,

fund delivery in USD and EUR within minutes,

coverage — more than 200 countries,

ability to send a short message to the recipient,

rates starting from 2 USD/EUR,

maximum transfer amount — up to 10,000 USD or 8,000 EUR.

It is noted that Nurbank also leads in the implementation of digital tenge among Kazakhstani banks, having executed all 8 functions online (from account opening to conversion) through the NurBusiness app. The next development phase could be lending in digital tenge, as the bank currently builds the necessary expertise and refines business processes. Additionally, Nurbank is gearing up for the “Digital VAT” project, which will reduce the tax refund period to 5-15 days, accelerating cash turnover for businesses.

Gulnara Musataeva concluded the event by noting that such meetings play an important role in strengthening trust and keeping the bank closer to its clients.

“Face-to-face communication is an opportunity to hear the client directly, without filters. We value this openness and are ready to incorporate feedback into future work,” she emphasized.

At Nurbank, it is also noted that the practice of holding such meetings will continue, as it fosters the development of partnerships and the formation of a sustainable business community around the bank.

The event took place in an open atmosphere conducive to lively dialogue. The meeting served as a platform not only for exchanging expert knowledge but also for sincere communication: clients actively shared their cases, asked questions, and discussed real business challenges.
