Nurbank Expands Digital Business Capabilities: NUR FX, Digital Tenge, and 1C:DirectBank

In pursuit of digital transformation, the bank is focusing on enhancing the functionality of the Nur Business online banking for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. Among the most significant innovations are the launch of the NUR FX platform for foreign currency purchase and sale, the implementation of the 1C:DirectBank accounting electronic document management service, and the development of a platform for comprehensive operations with digital tenge.

The rapid digital transformation of the financial sector necessitates the continuous introduction of new generation solutions to the market. For example, comprehensive support for digital tenge is becoming an essential component of modern banking infrastructure for businesses and governmental organizations handling earmarked funds. It is worth noting that from July 19, 2026, the "Rules for the Issuance, Circulation, and Redemption of Digital Tenge," developed by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, come into force, and today Nurbank is among the few banks in Kazakhstan offering full functionality for interaction with digital tenge as a complete third form of the national currency alongside cash and non-cash money.

At the same time, business digitalization requires integrated solutions. – Aleksey Nikolaevich, at the recent New Vision Forum 2026, Nurbank introduced, among other things, NUR FX – a user-friendly, transparent, and secure digital tool for business and foreign economic activity. Tell us more about its functions…

– Nurbank continues to develop current tools that optimize our clients’ processes. One such tool is the launch of the FX platform for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. The service allows online currency conversion operations, eliminating the need for calls and bank visits. The exchange rates are very close to market quotes, with narrow spreads, which is especially important for large volume conversions. For clients, this means the ability to independently choose the timing of conversion, quickly respond to market changes, and reduce currency operation costs without requiring interaction with bank managers.

– What should be considered when working with the NUR FX platform?

– The platform’s functionality allows for personalized rates depending on the client category. Currency control applies to operations exceeding the equivalent of $50,000. Transactions undergo necessary AML, antifraud, and currency control checks. Processes are automated, saving a lot of time for our clients involved in international settlements and foreign economic activity. This ensures the safety of settlements and compliance with legislation requirements, without creating additional burdens for the client. Currently, this service is being tested with a select group of clients in a pilot phase, after which the functionality will be available to all clients. 

Digital Tenge – Extensive Functionality for Working with the Third Form of National Currency

– Digital tenge is a new reality for managing earmarked funds. What are clients’ expectations from a bank that provides digital tenge services? 

– For businesses, digital tenge represents not just a new payment form but also a way to accelerate settlements and reduce administrative costs. This is particularly noticeable in the B2B segment and when working with state programs. The government is already considering digital tenge as a tool for the republic and local budgets. According to the instructions of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, state and quasi-state institutions must gradually transition to settlements in digital tenge. The expansion of application areas and the increase in digital tenge functions are changing client expectations: more and more, they expect not just transfers but automated and intelligent services with designation confirmation, real-time tracking of fund movements, and flexibility for specific tasks. The demand for transparency is increasing both from businesses and state entities, which require not only receipt of funds but also designation verification. Simultaneously, security and convenience requirements are growing. Essentially, digital tenge is beginning to form a new standard for client-bank interaction, where control, speed, and transparency are at the forefront of the relationship, as offered by our specialized digital tenge platform. The same protection and banking secrecy standards apply to digital accounts as to ordinary accounts.

– What functionalities are available to bank clients for operations with digital tenge?

– Our clients can already work with digital tenge directly in Nur Business. Fully online, clients currently have the following capabilities: opening a digital tenge account, making transfers, including receiving transfers from a digital tenge account at another bank, and converting funds into "ordinary" non-cash tenge. I emphasize that Nurbank is a leader in implementing digital tenge services. According to the National Payment Corporation, Nurbank has implemented all eight functions: from opening a digital account to fully online digital tenge conversion. Meanwhile, we are continuing efforts to expand the service’s functionality. The next potential development stage for digital national currency operations is lending. We are actively developing expertise on this issue. Additionally, a project for accelerated VAT refunds is in development. Using digital tenge can reduce the tax refund period from several months to 5-15 working days. This directly impacts business liquidity and stability.

1C:DirectBank – A Timely Digital Service for Accounting Electronic Document Management

– Nurbank consistently works on expanding the functionality of the offered services to optimize our clients' processes. One such direction is 1C:DirectBank. This service significantly reduces labor costs, freeing up additional time for other important processes. Previously, accountants had to perform double work: first creating documents in 1C, then manually uploading them to online banking. 1C:DirectBank eliminates unnecessary steps by integrating 1C and our online banking for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs into one system.

– What are the most useful solutions 1C:DirectBank can offer in Nur Business?

– Clients can prepare a payment order in 1C and send it to the bank in just one operation. Obtaining statements won’t take much time either - simply utilize the corresponding functionality in 1C, and the program will automatically retrieve the required document from the bank system. Real-time payment status tracking is also available - clients can immediately see the status: "Accepted by bank," "Processed," or "Rejected."

The service requires no additional digital signatures, as all action confirmations are done via SMS code. Operations are maximally secure for session participants – all data is transmitted to the bank through an encrypted channel. The data is not stored on local storages, eliminating the possibility of loss, leakage, or alteration of information. The service is available to any legitimate business in Kazakhstan with 1C product integration and an account with Nurbank. The use of the 1C:DirectBank service is provided free of charge.

Importantly, all these solutions are available to clients within a single digital Nur Business platform. This allows companies to manage settlements, currency operations, digital tenge, and interactions with accounting systems from a single interface without the need to use several separate services.
