Changes in the shareholders of Nurbank have occurred. Last Friday, the transaction for Sofia Sarsenova to acquire 70% of the total shares of the bank was completed.

Previously, on April 26 of the current year, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market and Financial Organizations granted Ms. Sarsenova consent to acquire the status of a major participant in JSC Nurbank with a 10.29% share of the bank's shares by its Resolution No. 57.

The change of shareholders will not result in making significant changes to the bank's strategy. One of the main priorities of Nurbank's activities remains the formation of a universal financial and credit institution with a high level of customer service and a comprehensive approach to selling quality banking products and services. By implementing the adopted development strategy, Nurbank concluded the year 2009 with a net profit of 762 million tenge and plans to raise this figure to 1 billion tenge by the end of the current year.

JSC Nurbank is among the ten largest banks in Kazakhstan, ranking eighth in a number of key indicators. As of January 1, 2010, Nurbank's assets amounted to 295 billion tenge, equity capital — 45 billion tenge, and the size of the bank's loan portfolio was 261 billion tenge.
