Ulf Wokurka has been appointed as an Independent Director-member of the Board of Directors of JSC 'Nurbank'. This decision was made during an extraordinary shareholders' meeting of the bank.
Ulf Wokurka was born on October 31, 1962, in Germany. He graduated with honors from MGIMO in 1989. From September 1990 to June 2006, he held various positions at Deutsche Bank AG, and from 2006 to 2008 he served as Deputy Chairman of the Board in the state holding 'Samruk'.
Over the next ten years, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Kazakhstan's largest companies such as JSC 'Kazpost', JSC 'Development Bank of Kazakhstan', JSC 'Kazyna Capital Management', JSC 'BTA Bank', and JSC 'Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan'.
From September 2010 to July 2017, he headed the Almaty office of Deutsche Bank AG. From July 2017 to July 2018, he was the Chairman of the Board of 'Kazkommertsbank', and from September 2018 to February 2019, he held the same position at JSC 'Tsesnabank'.
