Key Development Indicators of JSC 'Nurbank' Increased in the First Half of the Year

In the first half of 2016, Nurbank demonstrated positive dynamics in key financial indicators, reported Eldar Sarsenov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC 'Nurbank'.

Let us remind you that this year the bank installed 200 payment terminals across Kazakhstan, allowing for self-service banking operations without queues and at lower tariffs. A mobile internet banking application for individuals Nurbank24 was launched, and the corporate website www.nurbank.kz was redesigned. The bank launched customer consultations via chat on the bank's website and the WhatsApp application.

Additionally, a number of new credit, deposit, and card products were implemented, including services such as 'Education and Savings Deposit', unsecured, secured, and educational loans, as well as payment cards WEB-Card, Instant Card, and more.

“One of the important funding sources for the bank in the first half of the year remained client funds. During the reporting period, the bank managed to increase its assets by 4% and increase deposit inflow by 8%, demonstrating growing trust in the bank from businesses and the population,” he concluded.

According to consolidated data, the bank's assets as of July 1, 2016, amounted to 335.5 billion tenge, an increase of 12.3 billion tenge from the beginning of the year. The growth in assets was mainly driven by a 58% increase in the securities portfolio.

Since the beginning of 2016, there has been a decline in the number of non-performing loans from 13.2% to 9.3%, indicating an improvement in the quality of loans.

The bank's profit for the January-June 2016 period amounted to 560 million tenge, which is 4 times more than the same period last year.

The bank's operations cover the entire territory of the country. It has 16 branches and 81 banking service centers in all major regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Additionally, the bank has developed an extensive alternative sales network consisting of ATMs, payment and POS terminals, as well as internet banking.

Note that Nurbank is developing consumer lending and financing large industrial enterprises. Particular attention is paid to financing small and medium-sized businesses, both from the bank's funds and in cooperation with the government. In turn, partnerships with leading foreign banks enable fast money transfers anywhere in the world, servicing bank cards of VISA International and MasterCard payment systems, and issuing its own payment cards.

In the near future, the bank intends to implement strategic tasks for further business development, specifically:

  • increasing the volume of loans issued to individuals;
  • increasing its share in servicing retail, small, and medium-sized businesses;
  • improving the quality of the loan portfolio and deposit base;
  • enhancing the quality and speed of customer service.
