The international rating agency S&P Global Ratings has revised the ratings outlook for Nurbank from "Stable" to "Positive". The bank's long-term credit rating is confirmed at "B", and its national scale rating is at "kzBBB-".
According to S&P Global Ratings, the revision of the outlook reflects expectations of improved capital adequacy indicators for the bank due to more restrained growth rates, reduced provisioning needs, and increased profitability.
"The revision of the credit rating outlook for Nurbank from "Stable" to "Positive" by the authoritative international agency S&P Global Ratings is an important independent assessment of the bank's financial stability and the results of our consistent work. We continue to demonstrate positive dynamics across key business areas. As of August 1, 2026, Nurbank's assets approached 602 billion tenge, increasing by 37.3 billion tenge since the beginning of the year. This business growth is accompanied by maintaining the quality of the loan portfolio: the share of non-performing loans is 4.94%, which is significantly lower than the regulatory limit of 10%. The deposit portfolio also shows positive dynamics: its volume has increased by 28.6 billion tenge since the beginning of the year, reaching 424 billion tenge.
For us, the outlook improvement confirms the correctness of the chosen strategic course. We will continue to strengthen Nurbank's financial position, improve the quality of assets, develop the transactional business and digital services, and refine our product line and business processes," commented Acting Chairman of the Management Board of Nurbank, Alexey Mazhuga.
S&P Global Ratings announced an improved assessment of the country risks in the banking sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan (BICRA). The "Industry Risk" component rating has been upgraded from group "7" to "6". S&P analysts note that regulation and supervision in Kazakhstan's banking sector continue to improve.
